Sally Laing Hulme
Sally began her Ballet training at Kay
Armstrong’s Vancouver Ballet School with Miss Kay Armstrong and Mr Bob
Cadwallader. She continued her studies
under the tutelage of Grant Strate, Earl Kraul, & Danielle Clifford in
Vancouver. She also studied in the
United States doing Summer Workshops at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania
and Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle.
Sally’s studies included Ballet, Jazz, Musicality & Dance Notation (Benesh). Her dance teachers included David Howard, Mary Price Boday, Peter Schabel, Jay Kirk & Michael Owens. She studied Musicality with Julius Robinson, Douglas Corbin, & Mark Jelks.
She completed her Teachers Certificate at Pacific Northwest Ballet under the direction of David Howard. As a teacher, Sally apprenticed under Miss Kay Armstrong. She danced & taught at Central Illinois Ballet for Mary Price Boday. At Festival Ballet she was a teacher and choreographer. Sally has taught Jazz, Ballet, & Pointe to Children and Adults for many years at Community Centres in Vancouver such as Kitsilano, Killarney, Champlain, & many others.
